About Us

Leeds Connecting Communities is a voluntary organisation working to support Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups of all sizes to access funding, become successful and play their full part in contributing to community life in Leeds.

Our Vision is a Leeds where Black and Minority Ethnic communities, with all citizens, fully participate in, contribute to and enjoy the richness and prosperity of the city.

Our Mission is to work in partnership to address issues of inequality and barriers to effective participation experienced by Black and Minority Ethnic communities.

What We Do

We support BME community groups to start up, find relevant sources of funding, work with them to make sure their organisation is eligible, support them in accessing information and advise them on how to develop and sustain their work.

We have access to Grantfinder facilities for all BME community groups, a very powerful way of finding the money you need for your activites. We also have a team of Development Workers who provide one to one support and advice, helping you to manage your organisation to succeed.

We are also an active member of the Leeds Infrastructure Consortium (LIC), a collaboration of organisations with a range of skills and expertise in supporting community organisations to develop their function, sustainability and services. If there's part of your development plan where one of our partners in LIC can offer the best advice we can introduce you to an expert who can!

Leeds BME Network

We also host the Leeds BME Network, which is a growing forum for the sharing of  ideas, news, best practice, opportunities and general exchange of information and experience for those working in BME community groups around Leeds. On this website you will find the discussion forum for members of the Network.

The Network also has a Newsletter and quarterly events for people working with BME communities across the city.
